Which retail brokers have a public trading API?
Some brokers publish an API of their own. Others publish none, and an account there can only be automated through a platform API such as MetaTrader or cTrader.
Risk warning: CFDs and spread bets are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. You can lose money on these products, and each provider publishes its own loss figure under FCA rules. You should consider whether you understand how they work and whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money. Automated and API trading can amplify losses through bugs, connectivity failures and runaway orders.
Rows are in name order. The order is not a ranking and nothing here recommends a broker. Not recorded here means this site holds no record to answer from. It does not mean the broker or platform lacks it.
How each answer is built
The answer is built from the broker record's nativeApi field, its list of API types, its availability field and its one line summary. The source is the dated reading of the record's documentation address, or of a platform offer. Where the record holds no such dated reading, the answer opens with the word Unverified. Platform records are left out, because a platform record is itself an API.
21 of the 21 records below can answer this question. 3 of those answers rest on a record labelled unverified, 0 rest on sources that conflict, and no record is shown as not recorded here.
The state beside an answer is the cell the capability grid computes for the same record, shown as it stands there: Own API. It is a separate reading of the record, decided by the rule on its own page.
