Trading 212 API: Invest and ISA only, not the CFD account
REST API for the General Invest Account and the Stocks and Shares ISA, described as beta; it does not reach the CFD account.
Risk warning: CFDs and spread bets are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. You can lose money on these products, and each provider publishes its own loss figure under FCA rules. You should consider whether you understand how they work and whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money. Automated and API trading can amplify losses through bugs, connectivity failures and runaway orders.
Trading 212 API rate limits and allowances
One record per limit. The scope is part of the limit: a figure without its scope is not a figure you can pace against.

Access, authentication and streaming
API types listed in the record: REST.
- How you get a key
On the web or in the app: menu, Settings, API (Beta), Generate API key. A risk warning must be accepted first. You then name the key, choose its permissions and choose whether to restrict it to given IP addresses. A key and a secret are issued, and the secret is shown once.
- Who can use it
The docs say the API is enabled and usable only for the Invest and Stocks ISA account types.
- Demo
Yes: the docs name a paper trading (demo) environment on its own host, demo.trading212.com, beside the live host. Documented paths start /api/v0 on both.

Trading 212 API endpoints
16 documented endpoints. Grouped by what they do
- GET/api/v0/equity/account/summaryCash and investment figures for the account: funds free to trade, cash reserved for pending orders, the value and cost of holdings, and the total.
- GET/api/v0/equity/history/dividendsDividends paid into the account, paged, with the amount, the quantity held and the per share figure.
- GET/api/v0/equity/history/exportsThe CSV reports you have asked for and the status of each. Once a report is Finished its entry carries a link to download the file.
- POST/api/v0/equity/history/exportsAsk for a CSV report of account history over a period. The report is built in the background: the reply is a reportId to look for in the list of reports.
- GET/api/v0/equity/history/ordersPast orders on the account, paged, each paired with the fill it produced.
- GET/api/v0/equity/history/transactionsMovements of cash in and out of the account, paged: deposits, withdrawals, fees, transfers and interest.
- GET/api/v0/equity/metadata/exchangesThe exchanges the account can reach and the working schedules of each, which say when its instruments trade.
- GET/api/v0/equity/metadata/instrumentsEvery instrument the account can reach, with its ticker, name, ISIN, type, currency and the working schedule it trades on.
- GET/api/v0/equity/ordersEvery order still active on the account, meaning not yet filled, cancelled or expired.
- DELETE/api/v0/equity/orders/{id}Ask for a pending order to be cancelled. A success reply means the request was accepted, not that the order has gone: it may already be filling.
- GET/api/v0/equity/orders/{id}One pending order, looked up by its numeric identifier. Use it to check on an order you placed earlier.
- POST/api/v0/equity/orders/limitPlace a limit order, which fills at the limit price or better. The sign of quantity sets the direction.
- POST/api/v0/equity/orders/marketPlace a market order, to deal at the next available price. The sign of quantity sets the direction. If the market is closed the order waits for it to open.
- POST/api/v0/equity/orders/stopPlace a stop order, which becomes a market order once the last traded price reaches the stop price. The sign of quantity sets the direction.
- POST/api/v0/equity/orders/stop_limitPlace a stop limit order: when the last traded price reaches the stop price, a limit order is placed at the limit price. The sign of quantity sets the direction.
- GET/api/v0/equity/positionsEvery open position on the account, with quantity, average price paid, current price and the effect on the account in its own currency.

Documentation
Trading 212's API docs, read on 12 Oct 2026, name two environments: paper trading on demo.trading212.com and live on live.trading212.com, with every documented path starting /api/v0. This site had recorded only the live address and had the demo host as not settled. Both hosts are now recorded, without the /api/v0 prefix because the paths carry it. The way to build the Basic header is now sourced to the docs, since the help centre article cited before describes how to generate a key but not the header.
