Broker API tools
Small tools that do one job each. They run in your browser on files served from this site. There is no account, nothing to install, and no field asks for a credential.
Risk warning: CFDs and spread bets are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. You can lose money on these products, and each provider publishes its own loss figure under FCA rules. You should consider whether you understand how they work and whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money. Automated and API trading can amplify losses through bugs, connectivity failures and runaway orders.
The tools, by name
- Error lookupPaste an error message or code and get the decoded error pages that match it.
- Position size calculatorThe arithmetic from the position size lesson, worked for the figures you type. Not advice on how much to risk.
- Rate limit calculatorCheck a polling plan against a published limit: whether it fits, the headroom, and the shortest interval that would.
- Request builderPick a documented endpoint and get a curl, a Python and a JavaScript snippet that read credentials from environment variables.
What these tools are, and are not
Each one does arithmetic or matching on the records this site already publishes, and shows the source and the checked date of any figure it uses. None of them calls a broker, reads an account or stores what you type.
To make a real request without an account, use the practice API: fixed files of invented data on this site, which the request builder can send to. It is not any broker's API.
They are for learning and for checking your own working. None of them is advice, none says what anyone should trade or risk, and a result is only as good as the published figure behind it. Where a figure could not be verified, or two sources disagree, the tool says so.
