# Trading 212 API: Invest and ISA only, not the CFD account

Independent and unofficial. Not affiliated with or endorsed by any broker or platform named here. Educational only: nothing here is advice, and nothing here recommends a broker or a trade.

This is the markdown version of https://openbrokerapi.com/brokers/trading-212, written from the same records as that page.

Risk warning: CFDs and spread bets are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. You can lose money on these products, and each provider publishes its own loss figure under FCA rules. You should consider whether you understand how they work and whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money. Automated and API trading can amplify losses through bugs, connectivity failures and runaway orders.

REST API for the General Invest Account and the Stocks and Shares ISA, described as beta; it does not reach the CFD account.

## Trading 212 API rate limits and allowances

One record per limit. The scope is part of the limit: a figure without its scope is not a figure you can pace against.

- Headline limit: 1 req/5s, account summary (example)
  - Scope: account
  - Status: verified. Source: [docs.trading212.com](https://docs.trading212.com/api/section/rate-limiting), checked 2026-10-12.
  - Note: Limits are set per endpoint and applied per account; this is the account summary example from the docs, not a single global figure. A different endpoint on the same docs page carries a much higher limit, order placement (POST market order) at 50 requests a minute, about one call every 1.2 seconds, shown elsewhere on this site's re-verified note dated 23 Sep 2026. The two figures are not a contradiction: they are two different endpoints on one rate-limiting page, read account summary 22 Sep 2026 and order placement 23 Sep 2026. Build a rate limiter against the endpoint you actually call, not against either figure alone.

## Trading 212 API endpoints

16 documented endpoints. [Grouped by what they do](https://openbrokerapi.com/brokers/trading-212/endpoints).

- [GET /api/v0/equity/history/exports](https://openbrokerapi.com/brokers/trading-212/endpoints/history-exports): The CSV reports you have asked for and the status of each. Once a report is Finished its entry carries a link to download the file.
- [POST /api/v0/equity/history/exports](https://openbrokerapi.com/brokers/trading-212/endpoints/post-history-exports): Ask for a CSV report of account history over a period. The report is built in the background: the reply is a reportId to look for in the list of reports.
- [GET /api/v0/equity/history/orders](https://openbrokerapi.com/brokers/trading-212/endpoints/history-orders): Past orders on the account, paged, each paired with the fill it produced.
- [GET /api/v0/equity/history/transactions](https://openbrokerapi.com/brokers/trading-212/endpoints/history-transactions): Movements of cash in and out of the account, paged: deposits, withdrawals, fees, transfers and interest.
- [GET /api/v0/equity/metadata/exchanges](https://openbrokerapi.com/brokers/trading-212/endpoints/metadata-exchanges): The exchanges the account can reach and the working schedules of each, which say when its instruments trade.
- [GET /api/v0/equity/metadata/instruments](https://openbrokerapi.com/brokers/trading-212/endpoints/metadata-instruments): Every instrument the account can reach, with its ticker, name, ISIN, type, currency and the working schedule it trades on.

- [DELETE /api/v0/equity/orders/{id}](https://openbrokerapi.com/brokers/trading-212/endpoints/delete-order): Ask for a pending order to be cancelled. A success reply means the request was accepted, not that the order has gone: it may already be filling.
- [GET /api/v0/equity/orders/{id}](https://openbrokerapi.com/brokers/trading-212/endpoints/order-by-id): One pending order, looked up by its numeric identifier. Use it to check on an order you placed earlier.
- [POST /api/v0/equity/orders/limit](https://openbrokerapi.com/brokers/trading-212/endpoints/post-orders-limit): Place a limit order, which fills at the limit price or better. The sign of quantity sets the direction.
- [POST /api/v0/equity/orders/market](https://openbrokerapi.com/brokers/trading-212/endpoints/post-orders-market): Place a market order, to deal at the next available price. The sign of quantity sets the direction. If the market is closed the order waits for it to open.
- [POST /api/v0/equity/orders/stop](https://openbrokerapi.com/brokers/trading-212/endpoints/post-orders-stop): Place a stop order, which becomes a market order once the last traded price reaches the stop price. The sign of quantity sets the direction.
- [POST /api/v0/equity/orders/stop_limit](https://openbrokerapi.com/brokers/trading-212/endpoints/post-orders-stop-limit): Place a stop limit order: when the last traded price reaches the stop price, a limit order is placed at the limit price. The sign of quantity sets the direction.
- [GET /api/v0/equity/positions](https://openbrokerapi.com/brokers/trading-212/endpoints/positions): Every open position on the account, with quantity, average price paid, current price and the effect on the account in its own currency.
