What does Invalid SSL certificate mean on the Interactive Brokers API?
The Client Portal Web API gateway runs on your own premises, so Interactive Brokers says its certificate has to be created and self signed by you, or officially signed by a trusted third party. The gateway does not ship with a certificate.
Risk warning: CFDs and spread bets are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. You can lose money on these products, and each provider publishes its own loss figure under FCA rules. You should consider whether you understand how they work and whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money. Automated and API trading can amplify losses through bugs, connectivity failures and runaway orders.
How do I fix Invalid SSL certificate?
The vendor's steps: create a self signed certificate, place the generated .jks file in the root folder of the gateway directory, update the sslCert and sslPwd fields in the gateway configuration file, then restart the gateway.
