What does RES_E_INTERNAL_FAIL_CONNECT (-10003) mean on the MetaTrader 5 API?
No interprocess link (IPC) between the Python package and the terminal. The vendor's whole description is "internal IPC no ipc". The vendor's table prints the value -10003 for this constant, the same value it prints for RES_E_INTERNAL_FAIL_INIT, so on that page the number alone does not tell the two apart. It is one of the MetaTrader5 Python package's own codes, returned by last_error() as a tuple of code and description.
Risk warning: CFDs and spread bets are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. You can lose money on these products, and each provider publishes its own loss figure under FCA rules. You should consider whether you understand how they work and whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money. Automated and API trading can amplify losses through bugs, connectivity failures and runaway orders.
No fix in the source
The vendor's page gives no remedy. It lists the code with a one line description and nothing more.
That is all the source says, so this page does not invent a fix. General guidance: the other client library error codes recorded for MetaTrader 5, and the error lookup for the exact text of the reply you received.
