What does Order reply message mean on the Interactive Brokers API?
On the Web API, an order submission can come back with status 200 OK and, instead of an acknowledgement, an object holding an id, a message, isSuppressed, messageIds and, on the error details page, messageOptions. Interactive Brokers calls this an order reply message and says it does not mean the order was rejected: the vendor wants some element of the order confirmed before it goes to work. The messageIds values, such as o163, name the kind of message.
Risk warning: CFDs and spread bets are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. You can lose money on these products, and each provider publishes its own loss figure under FCA rules. You should consider whether you understand how they work and whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money. Automated and API trading can amplify losses through bugs, connectivity failures and runaway orders.
How do I fix Order reply message?
The vendor's page says to confirm by sending POST /iserver/reply/{id} with the body {"confirmed":true}, and that further reply messages may follow and must also be answered before the order is submitted. The message kinds can be suppressed for the rest of the brokerage session with the suppression endpoint.
