Risk warning: CFDs and spread bets are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. You can lose money on these products, and each provider publishes its own loss figure under FCA rules. You should consider whether you understand how they work and whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money. Automated and API trading can amplify losses through bugs, connectivity failures and runaway orders.

Sent when the server drops the session of one trading account. The account has to be authorised again before it can be used.

- [ProtoHeartbeatEvent](https://openbrokerapi.com/platforms/ctrader/messages/protoheartbeatevent): A message with no content that shows the connection is alive. The server sends it when nothing else is being sent, and a client can send it to keep a connection open through a quiet spell of more than 30 seconds.
- [ProtoOAAccountsTokenInvalidatedEvent](https://openbrokerapi.com/platforms/ctrader/messages/protooaaccountstokeninvalidatedevent): Sent when the server ends the session of particular trading accounts while the connection and its other account sessions carry on. The definition gives the causes: the account or the cTrader ID was deleted, or the token was refreshed or revoked.
- [ProtoOAClientDisconnectEvent](https://openbrokerapi.com/platforms/ctrader/messages/protooaclientdisconnectevent): Sent when the server ends the connection with the application. Every trading account session on the connection ends with it.
- [ProtoOAErrorRes](https://openbrokerapi.com/platforms/ctrader/messages/protooaerrorres): The general answer when a request fails. It names the error and can say when maintenance ends or how long a rate limited payload type stays blocked.
- [ProtoOAVersionReq](https://openbrokerapi.com/platforms/ctrader/messages/protooaversionreq): Asks the server for its version, which the definition says can be used to check the current version of the Open API scheme.
- [ProtoOAVersionRes](https://openbrokerapi.com/platforms/ctrader/messages/protooaversionres): Returns the version of the server application.
