# Interactive Brokers MCP servers, compared

Independent and unofficial. Not affiliated with or endorsed by any broker or platform named here. Educational only: nothing here is advice, and nothing here recommends a broker or a trade.

This is the markdown version of https://openbrokerapi.com/guides/interactive-brokers-mcp-servers, written from the same records as that page.

Risk warning: CFDs and spread bets are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. You can lose money on these products, and each provider publishes its own loss figure under FCA rules. You should consider whether you understand how they work and whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money. Automated and API trading can amplify losses through bugs, connectivity failures and runaway orders.

Search for an Interactive Brokers MCP server and you will find one official route from IBKR itself and a scatter of community repositories nobody has reviewed in one place. This page says plainly what we could confirm, and what we could not.

IBKR AI Integration (MCP)

Read only

Enforced by the broker. IBKR states the integration is read only and that instructions never become orders automatically: the client reviews and submits every order on an IBKR platform.

Standard IBKR authorisation flow. Credentials are never passed to the AI application, and access is revoked at Client Portal, Settings, Manage Third-Party Consents.

Not available in India or Japan.

The public endpoint is https://api.ibkr.com/v1/api/mcp-public, open to any MCP client. Connector 1.1.5 of 1 Sep 2026 is reported as the release that opened it. IBKR's AI integrations page carries no connector version and no such date, so that version and date are unverified, checked 19 Sep 2026. No rate limits are published on the release note.

Beyond IBKR's own MCP endpoint, community repositories claiming Interactive Brokers MCP support exist and the count keeps growing. A vendor-neutral directory, mphinance/awesome-broker-mcp, is the most complete list we found, and we read the directory's own entries rather than opening or testing every repository it links to. We have not code-reviewed the individual community IBKR MCP servers it lists, so this page does not rank them, name a favourite, or hand any of them a Tested badge. Quality across that field is genuinely unknown to us today, and we would rather say that plainly than fake a verdict.

For read-only access, IBKR's own MCP endpoint is the one we can vouch for: read only by IBKR's own description, with orders never placed automatically. For anything that touches execution, do not connect a community Interactive Brokers MCP server to a funded account until someone, including us, has actually reviewed its code. If you publish one and want it reviewed, tell us and we will add it here with a source.
