# Trading 212 API error: Timed-out

## What does Timed-out mean on the Trading 212 API?

The request timed out. Trading 212's reference gives this as the description of the 408 response, which it lists on every endpoint.

## How do I fix Timed-out?

For a read, retry after a pause. For an order, read the open orders first so that it is not placed twice.
