Risk warning: CFDs and spread bets are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. You can lose money on these products, and each provider publishes its own loss figure under FCA rules. You should consider whether you understand how they work and whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money. Automated and API trading can amplify losses through bugs, connectivity failures and runaway orders.

## What does Order reject object mean on the Interactive Brokers API?

On the Web API, Interactive Brokers says that an order which cannot be completed because of account details, such as trading permissions or funds, gets a 200 OK response carrying an error field that explains the issue. The vendor separates this from the 200 response that carries an order reply message, and from a possible 500 error caused by invalid request content.

## How do I fix Order reject object?

Read the error field: the status code alone does not show that the order was refused. The page gives no remedy beyond the text of the error.
