# eToro API error: ApiKeyRequired

## What does ApiKeyRequired mean on the eToro API?

The Authenticate message was sent without the API key. eToro lists this among the error codes of an unsuccessful WebSocket Authenticate response.

## How do I fix ApiKeyRequired?

Include apiKey in the data of the Authenticate message.
