# DXtrade FIX reject reason: VALIDATION_FAILED_POSITION_LIMIT

## What does VALIDATION_FAILED_POSITION_LIMIT mean on the DXtrade API?

In the DXtrade FIX Trading API, VALIDATION_FAILED_POSITION_LIMIT is an error code carried at the start of the Text (58) field of a business reject, in the form Error_Code:Descriptive_Text. The order would open a position that exceeds the configured maximum number of open positions.
