# What are the rate limits of each broker API?

Independent and unofficial. Not affiliated with or endorsed by any broker or platform named here. Educational only: nothing here is advice, and nothing here recommends a broker or a trade.

This is the markdown version of https://openbrokerapi.com/answers/rate-limits, written from the same records as that page.

Risk warning: CFDs and spread bets are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. You can lose money on these products, and each provider publishes its own loss figure under FCA rules. You should consider whether you understand how they work and whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money. Automated and API trading can amplify losses through bugs, connectivity failures and runaway orders.

A rate limit is the number of requests an API accepts in a period before it refuses more. The scope is part of the limit: a figure per key is not the same limit as the same figure per account.

Rows are in name order. The order is not a ranking and nothing here recommends a broker. Not recorded here means this site holds no record to answer from. It does not mean the broker or platform lacks it.

## How each answer is built

Where the limits register holds one limit record, the answer is that record: its name, its value and its scope. Where it holds several, the answer names them and the rate limits page holds each value with its scope. Where it holds none, the answer is the record's own sentence about rate limits, cut at the end of a sentence.

29 of the 29 records below can answer this question. 5 of those answers rest on a record labelled unverified, 2 rest on sources that conflict, and 0 records are shown as not recorded here.

The state beside an answer is the cell the capability grid (https://openbrokerapi.com/capabilities) computes for the same record: [Published rate limits](https://openbrokerapi.com/capabilities/rate-limits). It is a separate reading of the record, decided by the rule on its own page.
